My Nike Exploded

Today while I was on the court

Something happened I have to report

My Nike exploded. My sole was detached.

It was a disaster that couldn’t be patched.  

It crumbled my knee and

Gave my shin a red rash.

My Nike stocks plunged

And I lost some cash.

 From now on I’m playing in my old gym shoes

Not nearly as fancy or much in the news.

So when I jump high or slide cross the floor

It’s likely my plays will run up the score.   

No one will care what I wear on my feet.

As long as we win

My life will be sweet.
