Summer Journal 2012, August 12
Carrie and Paris have just finished sifting oregano. We went to the village last night and Jaiden rode the bumper cars three times. Here are some photos (we still have the helicopters flying to the fire area, but we are fine here - although we could see lots of smoke.)
Carrie and Paris are replacing all the damaged screens around the house. It makes a tremendous difference, and Paris knows the process very well.
I took Jaiden to look for turtles, but unfortunately they were hiding. We walked to the top of the driveway and the flies tormented her to no end. She said they were only going for her, but that wasn't true. They like me just as much.

Stellios Foras with sieve
This morning Stellios came to the house with a sieve to sift the oregano. Stell and I had picked several bunches and hung them to dry first under the holly tree and then in the garage. Paris and Carrie got involved in the process. All of us smell like oregano. This is good.
Paris and Foras begin the process in an old wooden tub that belonged to Paris' Grandmother, Maria.
Stellios and Paris quit and Carrie had to take over. Notice those neat gloves!
