Summer Journal 2012, August 7th

The family has arrived.  Jaiden stayed up last night trying to howl back at the coyotes, but now it is 10 a.m. here and she is sound asleep.  Alexander has however been entertaining us with his exploration of the patio.  He's very agile and loves the freedom of so much space.  We will take them for their first swim this afternoon.  Here are photos that you are left to interpret for yourselves.  It goes without saying that Stell is absolutely soaring with joy:

The only news I didn't like was hearing from Apisata that she had been stung in the eyelid by a wasp.  I can't imagine how uncomfortable this must be.  She and I both have had a bad year with poison ivy and wasps.  I know Nic will insist she go to the eye doctor if the swelling doesn't go down quickly.
